Northwest Africa 6207 (NWA 6207)

Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3)

Petrography: (K. Metzler, IfP) Chondrules, CAIs and AOAs are embedded in a fine-grained dark matrix (~40 vol% matrix). Most chondrules have apparent diameters between 0.3 and 1.5 mm, some up to 3 mm. Type II chondrules are rare.

Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: Random measurements of olivine grains revealed Fa18.3±14.6 (Fa0.8-41.8); n=20. Random measurements of low-Ca pyroxene grains revealed Fs2.0±0.8Wo0.7±0.4 (Fs0.6-3.6Wo0.3-1.8); n=18.
