Northwest Africa 6220 (NWA 6220) Erfoud, Morocco Found: Apr 2010 Classification: Rumuruti chondrite (R5) Physical characteristics: Three fresh fragments of a single stone with well preserved fusion crusts. Cut surfaces reveal numerous chondrules (40–50%). Petrography: Chondrules have sizes ranging from 200 ?m to 2 mm.They are chemically equilibrated and often rimmed by opaque phases. Matrix is recrystallized and mainly composed of olivine, plagioclase, pyroxene, sulfides, and chromite. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa39.9±0.3 (Fe/Mn=83); Ca-poor pyroxene Fs31.2±0.5Wo0.3±0.3 (Fe/Mn=59); Ca-rich pyroxene Fs11.7±0.3Wo45.0±0.1 (Fe/Mn=43).
