Nullarbor, Western Australia, Australia.

Found 1990 June.

Carbonaceous chondrite (CK3)

One mass of 36.6 g was found on the surface under a group of low bushes. In texture and matrix mineralogy it fits into the CKgroup of carbonaceous chondrites (Kallemeyn et al., 1991): no metal, but magnetite (3% Cr203, 1.4%TiO2), coarse matrix olivines (20-100 µm, Fa33.8±0.5, 0.3% Ni) plagioclase An32-57, Ca-rich pyroxene, rare pentlandite (36-40% Ni). Chondrule olivines are unequilibrated, cores Fa0.3-15, av. Fa6.3, rims Fa15-34. It contains CAIs with hercynitic spinel, about Fe0.5Mg0.5A12O3 (0.6% Ni), olivine (Fa33) and plagioclase An34-94.  Bulk composition, Fe 22.2%, Ca 2.75%, Ni 0.29%, Cr 3350 ppm, Mn 2270 ppm, REE enriched from 41 (La) to 9 (Lu) x C1, possibly contaminated by weathering. The meteorite is tentatively classified as CK3, F. Wlotzka and B. Spettel, Max-Planck-Institut fur Chemie, D-6500 Mainz, Germany. Information and main mass, David New, P. 0.
