Northwest Africa 6436 (NWA 6436) Morocco Found: 2009 Classification: Mesosiderite (group B2) Petrography: Partially recrystallized orthopyroxene breccia with minor pigeonite, plagioclase, SiO2, metal, and merrilite. Moderate weathering and low shock. Orthopyroxene, Fs 27.3Wo 2.2, Fe/Mn=34; pigeonite, Fs45 Wo8; plagioclase, An93Or3. Mesosiderite B2 (based on the greater amount of orthopyroxene to plagioclase and low degree of recrystallization). | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
