Northwest Africa 6840 (NWA 6840) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2010 Classification: Pallasite History: The meteorite was purchased from a local meteorite dealer in Erfoud, Morocco. Physical characteristics: Dark brownish fragment without fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite is composed of about 4 mm sized subrounded olivine grains surrounded by a matrix of partly layered brownish iron oxides or hydroxides. No pristine FeNi-metal has been found in the sample studied. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
