Northwest Africa 7009 (NWA 7009) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2011 Oct Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3) History: Purchased by Jack Schrader from a dealer in Agadir, Morocco, in 2011 October. Petrography: Separated, mostly granular chondrules with multiple concentric dust rims and sparse fine-grained CAIs set in a brown, partly altered matrix (rich in ferroan olivine). Predominant minerals are olivine, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and rare troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa0.6-31.0), orthopyroxene (Fs1.3Wo5.0), clinopyroxene (Fs1.3Wo38.8; Fs9.6-32.8Wo49.8-50.6).
