Northwest Africa 7168 (NWA 7168) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2011 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL4) History: Purchased by Marcin Cimała in 2011 from a dealer in Erfoud, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Breccia composed of angular clasts containing well formed chondrules (up to 2.5 mm in diameter) in finer grained, recrystallized matrix. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa28.8-29.4, N = 3), orthopyroxene (Fs23.3-23.9Wo3.3-1.6, N = 3), clinopyroxene (Fs10.3-11.0Wo43.7-43.9, N = 2). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL4 breccia)). Specimens: 20.4 g including one polished thin section at PSF; main mass with Mr. M. Cimała. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
