Northwest Africa 7261 (NWA 7261) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2010 Oct Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3) History: Purchased in October 2010 by Jack Schrader from a Moroccan dealer. Petrography: Separated, well-formed chondrules (mostly granular, BO and PO, some with multiple concentric dust rims) and sparse irregularly-shaped, fine-grained CAIs set in a brown, partly altered matrix (rich in ferroan olivine with some stained opaque grains). Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa0.4-33.6), orthopyroxene (Fs2.7-10.5Wo0.8-1.8), subcalcic augite (Fs1.5Wo39.9), augite (Fs11.2-12.5Wo47.1-48.7).
