Northwest Africa 7436 (NWA 7436)

Purchased: 2004

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5)

Petrography: Chondrules are identifiable, but many are not well-defined. Plagioclase grains are often 10s of μm across and occasionally up to 50 μm.

Geochemistry: Olivine, Fa19.7±1.5 (N=50); pyroxene, Fs=16.9±1.1Wo1.2±0.3 (N=57, EMPA).

Classification: Ordinary Chondrite H5, S4, W3.

Specimens: The specimen includes a thin section and two pieces of 6.5 and 1.4 g.
