Northwest Africa 7951 (NWA 7951) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2013 Apr Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6) History: Purchased by Adam Aaronson in Temara, Morocco in April 2013. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Very sparse, small chondrules in a highly recrystallized matrix. Olivine, orthopyroxene, augite, sodic plagioclase, altered kamacite, chromite and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa19.3-19.5), orthopyroxene (Fs17.5-17.9Wo0.9-1.1), augite (Fs6.5-6.8Wo44.8-45.5). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6). Specimens: 21.9 g and one polished thin section are at UWB. The remainder is held by Aaronson. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
