Northwest Africa 8172 (NWA 8172) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2013 Sep Classification: Ureilite History: Purchased in September 2013 by Gary Fujihara from a dealer in Agadir, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Protogranular aggregate of olivine and pigeonite. Grain boundary regions have distinctive dark, reduced, metal-rich zones. Geochemistry: Olivine (cores Fa24.1; reduced rims Fa12.0), pigeonite (Fs19.6-19.7Wo7.6-8.0). Classification: Ureilite. Specimens: 20.4 g including a polished slice at UWB. The remainder is held by Mr. G. Fujihara. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
