Northwest Africa 8433 (NWA 8433)

Purchased: 2002

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL7)

History: Purchased in Tucson in 2002

Physical characteristics: One partially crusted stone.

Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE): Breccia with shock-darkened clasts up to 5 mm and mm-thick shock veins. No chondrule visible. Recrystallized texture with triple junctions. Most plagioclase are >100 μm. Minerals are olivine, pyroxene, plagioclase, troilite, chromite, Ca-phosphate, metal.

Geochemistry: Olivine Fa31.4±0.1, orthopyroxene Fs26.4±0.2Wo2.3±0.3, plagioclase An11Ab82Or7. Magnetic susceptibility log χ = 3.82  (χ in 10-9 m3/kg).

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL7), breccia. Weathering grade W1

Specimens: 22 g in CEREGE, main mass with Labenne
