Jiddat al Harasis 858 (JaH 858) 19°24.193’N, 55°48.35’E Al Wusta, Oman Find: 2003 Feb 28 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6) History: Discovered on a desert expedition on Feb. 28, 2003. Physical characteristics: Two dark brown stones of 42.2 g. Magnetic susceptibility log χ = 4.62. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) various types of chondrules from 0.2 to 0.9 mm (avg. 0.5 mm) set in iron hydroxide interspersed in recrystallized matrix. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine: Fa18.47 (Fa18.1-19.0, n=13); low-Ca pyroxene: Fs16.2Wo1.0 (15.6-16.5Wo0.9-1.2, n=6). Kamacite Ni 5.3-7.7, Co 0.5-0.6 wt.% (n=5).
