Northwest Africa 8087 (NWA 8087)

Classification: HED achondrite (Diogenite)

Physical characteristics: Many small individuals partially covered with fusion crust were found.

Petrography: (A. Greshake, MNB) The meteorite shows a light gray interior and displays a cumulate texture of dominantly large orthopyroxene crystals with less abundant calcic plagioclase. Accessory minerals include chromite and troilite.

Geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene: Fs26.9-27.5Wo2.8-3.5, FeO/MnO=26.3-29.8, calcic plagioclase: An90.3-93
