Northwest Africa 7405 (NWA 7405)

Morocco

Purchased: Jan 2008

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3)

Petrography: Chondrules average ~400 µm in apparent diameter; none of them contains clear colorless glass.  There are a lot of broken chondrules visible in thin section.  Many low-Ca pyroxene grains exhibit polysynthetic twins. The rock is moderately recrystallized and is about as equilibrated as H3.8 Dhajala.

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3).
