Northwest Africa 10092 (NWA 10092) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: Sep 2011 Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3) History: Purchased from Ahmad Bouragaa. Physical characteristics: The stone is very angular, and almost completely fusion-crusted. The fusion crust exhibits lipping on one side. Petrography: (A.E. Rubin, UCLA) Heterogeneity of olivine indicates low type 3. Average chondrule diameter is ~200 μm consistent with CO3. Matrix abundance ~35%, most chondrules are porphyritic type I, consistent with CO3. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
