Northwest Africa 10377 (NWA 10377)

Purchased: 2015 Jan

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L, melt breccia)

History: The meteorite was purchased from a local meteorite dealer in Zagora, Morocco.

Petrography: The meteorite is composed of regions displaying chondritic textures with recognizable chondrules intermingled with abundant melt regions characterized by recrystallized shock melt and characteristic FeNi metal and sulfide globules. Olivine and pyroxene show strong mosaicism attesting to a high degree of shock metamorphism.
