Purchased: 2016 Feb

Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite)

History: Purchased by Ke Zuokai in Feb. 2016 from a Moroccan dealer.

Physical characteristics: An irregular stone without fusion crust.

Petrography: The breccia contains fragments of coarse-grained gabbroic and subophitic basaltic clasts ranging in size of 0.2 to 7 mm. The rock fragments and some mineral clasts set in a medium- to fine-grained matrix (10~ 100 μm) composed of elongate calcic plagioclase and subhedral or anhedral pyroxene. Accessories include chromite, ilmenite and SiO₂ polymorphs.

Geochemistry: Plagioclase, An_86.4±2Or_0.4±0.2(An_82.5-89.6Or_0.1-1, n=31); pigeonite, Fs_51.5±7.1Wo_13±5(Fs_31.7-61.4Wo_5.3-23.8, n=32); augite, Fs_28.1±1.9Wo_43±0.3(Fs_27.1-30.3Wo_42.7-43.3, n=3); orthopyroxene, Fs_58.9±1Wo_3.8±1.4(Fs_58.2-59.6Wo_2.8-4.8, n=2); all pyroxenes, FeO/MnO = 29±2.
