Northwest Africa 10651 (NWA 10651) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2016 Jan Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK5) History: Purchased in January 2016 by Fabien Kuntz from Steve Arnold (Chicago), who had acquired the stone from a Moroccan source. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Sparse chondrules (apparent diameter up to 1.6 mm) set in a recrystallized matrix containing abundant orange-stained Cr-rich magnetite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa34.7-35.6, FeO/MnO = 106-111, N = 3), clinopyroxene (Fs8.3-8.7Wo47.5-48.5, N = 3). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CK5). Specimens: 20.08 g including one polished thin section at PSF; remainder with Kuntz. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
