Northwest Africa 11021 (NWA 11021) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2016 Jun Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL7) History: Purchased by Fabien Kuntz in June 2016 from a Morocan dealer at the Sainte Marie-aux-Mines Mineral Show. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Very fresh specimen with poikiloblastic texture and no remnant chondrules. Minerals are orthopyroxene, olivine, clinopyroxene, oligoclase, troilite, chromite, stained kamacite and taenite. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa30.1-30.4, N = 3), orthopyroxene (Fs23.8-24.0Wo4.1-4.0, N = 3), clinopyroxene (Fs12.5-13.3Wo39.5-37.8, N = 2), plagioclase (An29.0Or1.2). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL7). Specimens: 22.21 g including one polished thin section at PSF; remainder with Kuntz. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
