Northwest Africa 11334 (NWA 11334) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2005 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3/4) History: Purchased by an anonymous collector from a dealer at the Munich Show in 2005, subsequently acquired by the Hollis Collection and donated to the Planetary Studies Foundation. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Well-formed chondrules occur in a recrystallized matrix containing stained metal. Olivine is mostly equilibrated but magnesian cores are present. Geochemistry: Olivine (core Fa6.9; Fa23.5-25.5, Cr2O3 <0.02 wt.%, N = 7), orthopyroxene (Fs2.8-17.0Wo0.9-0.3, N = 3), clinopyroxene (Fs7.7-8.9Wo45.9-43.8, N = 2). Magnetic suceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.70. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3/4).
