Northwest Africa 11545 (NWA 11545) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2017 Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3) Physical characteristics: Dark brown stone. Cut surface reveals large well defined chondrules and CAIs set in a dark matrix. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, H. Pourkhorsandi, CEREGE) Well-defined mm-sized chondrules (mostly type I) and CAIs set in a fine-grained iron-rich abundant matrix. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa4.3±4.0, range 0.6-11.1, PMD 85% (N=8). Orthopyroxene Fs2.4±1.7Wo2.2±1.5 (N=3). Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CV3). Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Kuntz. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
