Northwest Africa 11726 (NWA 11726) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2005 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4/5) History: Purchased by an anonymous collector from a dealer at the Munich Show in 2005, subsequently acquired by the Hollis Collection and then donated to PSF. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Some well-formed chondrules are present within a recrystallized matrix containing stained metal. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa24.5-24.7, N = 3), orthopyroxene (Fs20.5-21.8Wo1.6-1.5, N = 2), clinopyroxene (Fs7.9-8.1Wo44.5-45.1, N = 2). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4/5). Specimens: The entire specimen including one polished thin section is at PSF. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
