Writeup from AMN 2(1):
This text was reprinted from AMN 2(1) in AMN 4(1). In some cases, it may be an updated version from the original. Sample No.: DRPA78002 Location: Derrick Peak Field No.: 303 Weight (gms): 7188.0 Meteorite Type: Iron
Physical Description: The B surface of this 24 x 22 x 9.5 cm specimen was in contact with the ice at the time of recovery. The B surface is irregular; an area ~5 cm long and 1.5 cm wide is ropy in appearance and has higher relief than the surrounding metal, which is probably due to preferential weathering of this material (schreibersite?). The T surface has many regmaglypts, some of the deeper of which are stained by hydrous iron oxides. The S surface is partially covered with a yellowish-brown evaporate deposit. The S side of the sample is thicker than the N edge, thus resulting in an overall wedge shape for the specimen. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
