Northwest Africa 12305 (NWA 12305) Mauritania Purchased: 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L6) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Ziyao Wang from Adnane Sami during the China (Hunan) Mineral & Gem Show in Chenzhou City in Sept. 2018. Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Two brown-black individuals of 13282 g and 217.5 g. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) black shock-darkened matrix with indistinct chondrules accompanied by melt pockets of μm-sized matrix. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa25.0±2.4 (n=17); pyroxene Fs20.7±0.8Wo1.1±0.3 (n=4); An13Or6 (n=1); merrillite. Kamacite Ni=6.9, Co=1.0 wt-% (n=1). Magnetic susceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.78 Classification: ordinary chondrite (L6, with melt pockets) Specimens: 22 g on deposit at Münster, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 188 g with Bart.
