Northwest Africa 12504 (NWA 12504) Morocco Purchased: 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL5) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Ziyao Wang from Sbai Mohamed at the mineral show in Beijing in Nov. 2018 Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) one irregular stone of 435 gram with fusion crust Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) recrystallized matrix with recognizable chondrules (av. 0.9 mm), chondrule and mineral fragments. Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa28.9±1.7 (n=17); pyroxene Fs23.8±1.0Wo1.8±0.4 (n=11); Ca-pyroxene En46Fs10Wo44 (n=1); chromite CRAL86, FFM92 (n=1); merrillite. Kamacite Ni=5.3, Co=1.5 (n=1); taenite Ni=35.5, Co=0.9 (n=3) (all wt-%). Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.31 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL5, S2, W2) Specimens: 20.1 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 53 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
