Loulan Yizhi 022 ~40°26’N, ~89°36’E Xinjiang, China Find: Nov 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~6) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Ziyao Wang from Tailu Zhao (Shanshan County, Xinjiang) in Shanshan/Xinjiang in 2018. This meteorite was discovered by Tailu Zhao and Dongfang Deng in Nov 2018. Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) Small brown stone of 5.9 g. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) brown, recrystallized matrix, with poorly defined chondrules, and completely oxidized metal and sulfide. Vugs and cracks are mostly filled with iron-hydroxides and sulfates. Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.52 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~6, W5) Specimens: 1.3 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 1 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
