Kumtag 053 41°50’43.63"N, 93°48’49.41"E Xinjiang, China Find: 2015 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H~5) History: (Ziyao Wang) Discovered by the geologist Jianming Wang (Hami/Xinjiang) during field work in the Kumtag Desert in 2015 Physical characteristics: Brown, nearly square stone of 1207.6 g without fusion crust Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) light-brown matrix with well-developed chondrules (0.3-1.5 mm, av. 0.6 mm) and irregular metal and sulfide inclusions Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.93-5.17 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H~5 breccia, W2) Specimens: 23.1 g on deposit at Kiel, Ziyao Wang holds the main mass, and 138 g with Bart. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
