Northwest Africa 12484 (NWA 12484) Niger Purchased: 2018 Oct 05 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3) Physical characteristics: Several crusted stones and fragments Petrography: Chondrite with packed and well-delineated chondrules. Chondrule mesosatis is devitrified. Opaques are Fe,Ni metal, and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa24.2±5.6, Fa PMD=19%, Cr2O3 0.04±0.02 wt% (n=9). low-Ca pyroxene Fs11.0±6.5Wo0.9±1.4 (n=6). Magnetic susceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.64. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3). L group form magnetic susceptibility. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
