Northwest Africa 12515 (NWA 12515) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2018 Aug Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4) History: Purchased by John Higgins and Igor Litovsky in August 2018 from a dealer in Zagora, Morocco. Petrography: (A. Irving and S. Kuehner, UWS) Well-formed, equilibrated chondrules are set in a finer matrix containing altered metal. Geochemistry: Olivine (Fa24.6-25.4, N = 3), orthopyroxene (Fs1.7-20.6Wo0.6-1.5, N = 3), clinopyroxene (Fs2.3Wo38.5; Fs2.8Wo46.8; N = 2). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L4). Specimens: 53 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder jointly with Mr. J. Higgins and Mr. I. Litovsky. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
