Northwest Africa 12462 (NWA 12462) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2018 March Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3.15) Petrography: Chondrite with packed, well-defined chondrules. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa19.1±10.9, Fa PMD 49%, range Fa0.8-37.4 (n=11). Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.19±0.18 wt% (n=10). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs9.13±5.5Wo1.0±1.4 (n=8). Magnetic susceptibility log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 3.68. Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3.15). LL group based on magnetic susceptibility. Subtype from Cr2O3 content of ferroan olivine.
