Aksai Chin 002 (AC 002) 35° 3’30"N, 79°12’15"E Xinjiang, China Find: July 2012 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~5) History: (Ziyao Wang) Discovered by Wang Rongqing while doing field work in Aksai Chin in July 2012. It was donated to R. Bartoschewitz as a fragment of the Aksai Chin H chondrite in Nov. 2018, but was recognized as an L chondrite. Physical characteristics: Red-brown flat stone of 11.5 g. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) brown recrystallized matrix with defined chondrules (0.3-1.5 mm) and irregular metal and sulfide. Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.62 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~5, W3) Specimens: 3.69 g on deposit at Kiel, Bart holds the main mass. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
