Catalina 319 24°56’05.8’’S, 069°58’55.5’’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 2017 Feb 19 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3) History: Found on granodiorite pediment surface by a six-person team. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Chondrite with well-defined, packed chondrules. Opaques are Fe,Ni metal and troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa16.5±9.1, Fa PMD 51%, Cr2O3 0.06±0.05 wt%. Low-Ca pyroxene Fs19.5±6.6Wo0.7±0.2 (n=5). Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L3). L group from magnetic susceptibility. Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Sergey Vasiliev. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
