Classification: Ureilite

History: A single stone was found in the desert by an anonymous finder.

Physical characteristics: A meteorite of faceted shape with partly preserved, brown-colored fusion crust.

Petrography: (Lorenz C. A., Vernad) The rock has coarse-grained (3-5 mm) lineated texture and composes mainly of olivine, minor pyroxene grains (1-3 mm) and graphite laths occurring along the silicate grain boundaries. Olivine crystals are finely granulated and rich in fine metal inclusions near the contacts with graphite. Pyroxene grains are rich in metal and glass inclusions. Metal and sulphide form rare narrow veinlets often interconnecting the graphite laths. The veinlets are partially replaced by iron hydroxides.

Kononkova, EMP, Vernad) Olivine Fo79.6 (Fe/Mn=44.6) zoned to Fo99.5 (CaO = 0.23±0.09 wt%; Cr2O3 = 0.44±0.2 wt%; N=5); Pyroxene En78.8-92.6 Wo3.1-6.4 (Al2O3 = 1.11±0.04 wt%; Cr2O3 = 0.9±0.23 wt%; Fe/Mn=22; N=5) and En68.4Wo30.3.

Classification: achondrite (ureilite). Weathering is moderate.

Specimens: Cut piece of 8 g and thin polished sample are on deposit in Vernad.
