Loulan Yizhi 033 ~40°26’N, ~89°54’E Xinjiang, China Find: 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~4) History: (Ziyao Wang) The geologist Jianming Wang bought two stones from a merchant dealing in stones in Hami. Both stones were discovered close to each other in 2018. Jianming Wang obtained them in Hami/Xinjiang in 2019 and donated them to R. Bartoschewitz. Physical characteristics: Two brown stones of 23.73 g (12.02 and 11.71 g) with evaporation minerals on surface cracks Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) Yellow-brown heavy oxidized matrix with well defined gray chonrules (0.3-1.2 mm). Metal and sulfide are completely oxidized. Geochemistry: Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 4.57 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L~4, W5) Specimens: 4.8 g on deposit at Kiel, Bart. holds the main mass | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
