Northwest Africa 12705 (NWA 12705) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Classification: Ureilite History: The meteorite was purchased from a local meteorite dealer in Zagora, Morocco. Physical characteristics: Single light brownish stone without fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite displays a characteristic cumulate texture of up to 1.5 mm sized olivine and pigeonite crystals. Grains are often elongated and show a preferred orientation. Reduced rims in olivine are abundant. The meteorite contains flaky graphite. Geochemistry: reduced rims in olivine: Fa2.0-10.6; olivine contains 0.50±0.03 wt% Cr2O3 and 0.30±0.02 wt% CaO | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
