Chug Chug 013 22°28.76’S, 69°05.988’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 04 Apr 2018 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5) History: Meteorite (1 piece) was found on April 4, 2018, by Ilya Chaplygin during a desert meteorite search organized by Timur Kryachko. Physical characteristics: Single brown stone with angular shape and remnants of dark-brown fusion crust. Fresh cut is dark gray and shows abundant metal. Dimentions 4 × 3 × 1.5 cm. Geochemistry: Mineral composition and Geochemistry: EDS-WDS analyses (V.I. Taskaev, IGEM RAS). The primary chondrite paragenesis includes olivine Fa18.54±0.39 (N=12), Low-Ca pyroxene Fs16.3±0.6Wo1.43±0.29 (N=13), plagioclase Ab81.8An12.6Or5.5 (N=3). Composition of kamacite (in wt.%, N=2): Fe 93.34, Ni 5.1, Co 0.5. Taenite (in wt., %, N=6) contain 30.55 and 0.24 wt.% of Ni and Co respectively. Troilite is close to ideal FeS. Classification: (Pavel Yu. Plechov, FMMR). Ordinary chondrite. H5, S1, W1 Specimens: Mr. I. Chaplygin holds main mass 29.36 g. 7.94 g and thin section, FMMR. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
