Find: 2014 May 31

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (L5)

History: This stone was recovered by Robert Verish while he was searching for meteorites on a small drylake, on a north-facing stranding-surface.

Physical characteristics: This 15.65 g, well-rounded, whole stone has a smooth, orange-stained exterior with several patches of relict fusion-crust. Cut surface exposes a dark-brown interior with abundant troilite grains.

Petrography: (D. Sheikh, FSU) Chondrules (200-400 µm, N=17). Recrystallized matrix with plagioclase (10-30 µm).

Geochemistry: Olivine, Fa23.5±0.6 (N=25); orthopyroxene, Fs21.7±0.7Wo2.0±0.4, (N=25).

Classification: Ordinary Chondrite (L5)

Specimens: 4.13 grams at UCLA; main mass with Verish.
