Find: 2014 May 31

Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5)

History: This stone was recovered by Robert Verish while he was searching for meteorites on a small drylake, on a north-facing stranding-surface.

Physical characteristics: The original exterior to this find is non-existant, so it cannot be determined whether this 9.35 g charcoal-gray stone is a fragment or was a whole-stone. Groundmass is apparently friable since many chondrules stand-out in high relief on the current exterior. The interior is colored gray-brown.

Petrography: (D. Sheikh, FSU) Chondrule boundaries blurred (500 µm, N=1). Recrystallized matrix with plagioclase (10-20 µm).

Geochemistry: Olivine, Fa19.7±0.6 (N=25); orthopyroxene, Fs 18.7±0.9Wo2.0±0.5, (N=25).

Classification: Ordinary Chondrite (H5)

Specimens: 2.38 grams at UCLA; main mass with Verish.
