Northwest Africa 12862 (NWA 12862) Algeria Purchased: 13 Aug 2018 Classification: Pallasite History: Purchased on 13 August 2018 by Chalom Malka from Naji C. in Boujdour, Morocco. Physical characteristics: Dark-brown stones with a weathered rind. Petrography: (D. Sheikh, FSU) 4-5 mm fractured olivine grains set in a heavily weathered matrix of iron oxides and near absent FeNi metal. Geochemistry: (D. Sheikh, FSU) Olivine (Fa13.1±0.3, range Fa12.4-13.8, n=14). Classification: Pallasite Specimens: 20.67 grams at UCLA; main mass with Chalom Malka. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
