Northwest Africa 12964 (NWA 12964) Morocco Purchased: 2018 Classification: Ureilite Petrography: (J. Gattaceca, CEREGE) Blocky silicate assemblage. Grain size about 1 mm. Olivine dominates strongly over pyroxene. Olivine shows reduced rims. Carbon material is present at grain boundaries. Geochemistry: Olivine cores Fa22.8±0.2 (n=3), rim Fa18.2 (n=1), CaO 0.27 wt%, Cr2O3 0.54 wt%. Pigeonite Fs18.9Wo10.2, FeO/MnO=32.9 (n=2). Classification: Ureilite Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with George Peneff. | ||||||||||||||||||||
