Caleta el Cobre 033 (CeC 033) 24°15’S, 70°31’W Antofagasta, Chile Find: 2018 Dec Classification: Carbonaceous chondrite (CO3) History: Found in the Atacama desert. Physical characteristics: Brownish stones. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Chondrules with average apparent diameter 220±200 µm (n=44) and small CAIs set in an abundant fine-grained iron rich matrix (38 vol% from point couting, n=251). Opaques are metal and sulfides Geochemistry: Olivine Fa28.9±14.8, range Fa 2.0-50.3, Cr2O3 0.18±0.11 wt% (n=13). Low-Ca pyroxene Fs28.4±20.7Wo1.7±1.5 (n=10).
