Northwest Africa 13039 (NWA 13039) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5) History: (Ziyao Wang) Purchased by Wei Jiang from a Moroccan dealer (Rachid Adnane) at the mineral show in Chenzhou in May 2019 Physical characteristics: (Ziyao Wang) brown yellow stone of 12.8 kg, without fusion crust. Petrography: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) well-outlined chondrules of 0.4±0.2 mm (n=15) occur within a moderately recrystallized matrix containing abundant metal and troilite Geochemistry: (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart, P. Appel and B. Mader, Kiel) Olivine Fa18.7 (18.2-21.4; n=17); pyroxene Fs16.4 (15.9-17.0) Wo1.1±0.1; n=6). Kamacite Ni=6.6, Co=0.6 (n=3); taenite Ni=21.4-29.9, Co=0.4-0.3 (n=2) wt%. Magnetic susceptibility (R. Bartoschewitz, Bart) log χ (× 10-9 m3/kg) = 5.06 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H5, S1, W3) Specimens: 21.3 g on deposit at Kiel, Wei Jiang holds the main mass, and 455 g and polished thin section with Bart | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
