Northwest Africa 13148 (NWA 13148) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Sep Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite) Physical characteristics: One fusion crusted stone Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Igneous rock with ophitic texture. Minerals include dominant pyroxene and plagioclase (fractured, grain size about 1 mm), chromite, troilite, silica polymorph, Fe,Ni metal. Geochemistry: Low Ca-pyroxene Fs61.0±1.8Wo3.7±1.8, FeO/MnO=32.2±1.2 (n=6). Plagioclase An89.3Ab10.2Or0.5 (n=2). Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE, main mass with Kuntz | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||
