Northwest Africa 13149 (NWA 13149) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Sep Classification: HED achondrite (Eucrite) Physical characteristics: Several fragments, some with fusion crust, some without. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, CEREGE) Igneous rock with ophitic texture. Minerals include dominant exsolved pyroxene and plagioclase (grain size about 700 μm), chromite, troilite, silica polymorph, Fe,Ni metal. Geochemistry: Pyroxenes: low Ca-pyroxene Fs62.2±0.8Wo3.3±1.0 (n=3), Ca-pyroxene Fs30.8Wo39.8 (n=2), FeO/MnO=34.7±2.1 (n=5). Plagioclase An88.1.3Ab11.6Or0.3 (n=1).
