Northwest Africa 13347 (NWA 13347) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2019 Dec Classification: HED achondrite (Diogenite) History: Purchased by Rachid Chaoui in December 2019 from a Mauritanian dealer. Physical characteristics: A single partially crusted, pale yellowish-green stone (348 g). Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) Aggregate of predominantly orthopyroxene with very minor chromite, troilite and Ni-poor metal. Geochemistry: Orthopyroxene (Fs23.4-24.3Wo2.8-1.3, FeO/MnO = 27-31, N = 5). Classification: Diogenite. Specimens: 21.5 g including one polished thin section at UWB; remainder with Mr. R. Chaoui. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
