Chwichiya 006 27° 7’40.65"N, 11°12’33.33"W Saguia el Hamra, Western Sahara Purchased: 2020 Mar Classification: Ureilite History: The meteorite was found by a Moroccan meteorite hunter on his way to hunt for Chwichiya specimens, acquired by a seller in Zagora and subsequently sold to Fabien Kuntz. Physical characteristics: Dark brownish rock without fusion crust. Petrography: The meteorite shows a cumulate texture composed of up to 2 mm sized olivine and pigeonite grains. Both, olivine and pyroxene display characteristic reduced rims and the meteorite contains rare flaky graphite. Some cracks are filled with secondary clacite. Geochemistry: reduced rims in olivine: Fa3.6-13.0; olivine contains 0.90±0.06 wt% Cr2O3 and 0.43±0.02 wt% CaO; reduced rims in pyroxene: Fs7.0-10.5Wo6.6-11.4; pigeonite contains 1.34±0.05 wt% Cr2O3 and 0.60±0.03 wt% Al2O3 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
