Northwest Africa 13513 (NWA 13513) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2020 Jun Classification: Ureilite History: Purchased by Sun-Chung Yang in June 2020 from a Moroccan dealer. Petrography: (A. Irving, UWS and P. Carpenter, WUSL) The specimen exhibits triple grain junction texture and is composed predominantly of olivine with subordinate low-Ca pyroxene and augite plus accessory graphite, phosphorus-bearing FeNi metal, Cr-troilite and minor secondary calcite. Olivine grains have reduced magnesian rims with fine blebby Fe metal associated with minor Cr-troilite. Geochemistry: Olivine (cores Fa11.3±0.2, N = 3; rims 4.1±0.9, range Fa3.5-5.1, N = 3), low-Ca pyroxene (Fs10.2±0.2Wo4.9±0.0, N = 2), augite (Fs6.3±0.0Wo36.5±0.2, N = 2). Classification: Ureilite. Specimens: 4.6 g in the form of a polished endcut at UWB; remainder with Mr. S.-C. Yang. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
