Northwest Africa 13682 (NWA 13682) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2020 Oct 2 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (H6) History: Purchased from a Moroccan mineral dealer at the mineral show in Torino, Italy. Purportedly found near El Aaiun, Western Sahara. Petrography: (K. Metzler, IfP) Ordinary chondrite with strongly recrystallized texture and only few chondrule relicts. Secondary feldspar grains mostly >50 µm. Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: The mean olivine composition is Fa19.1±0.5 (18.5-20; n=10). The mean low-Ca pyroxene composition is Fs16.5±0.2 Wo1.5±0.2 (Fs16.2-16.9 Wo1.2-1.7; n=13). Classification: H chondrite based on mineral chemistry. Petrologic type 6 based on the equilibrated state of olivine and pyroxene and large grain size of secondary plagioclase. Specimens: Main mass, Stefano Crivello (Via Bobbio 9a/18) and I.
