Tisserlitine 002 21°34’47.9’’N, 1°13’22.3’’W Gao, Mali Purchased: 2021 Classification: HED achondrite (Diogenite) History: Found in August 2020 by meteorite hunters in Mali. Purchased in 2021 from a mineral dealer in Mauritania. Petrography: (K. Metzler, IfP) Monomict breccia consisting of diogenite clasts (lithic clasts and pyroxene fragments), embedded in small amounts of fine-grained related debris. Accessories are olivine (max. 400 µm), chromite (max. 800 µm), troilite, and Ni-free metal. Geochemistry: Mineral compositions and geochemistry: Low-Ca pyroxene: Fs23.4±0.4Wo1.7±0.1 (Fs22.6-24.1Wo1.6-1.9); mean Fe/Mn (at.): 29.6; n=14. Three olivine grains were found Fa26.1±2.0 (Fa24.8-28.4); Fe/Mn (at.): 54.7; n=3. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
